Would like to move Shoutbox above forum.

Hello, I am a brand new user and have done some simple stuff to personalize my forum. I am interested in moving the shoutbox so that it is seen just under the news feed. I have zero experience with the code used for the forum and after extensive looking through the "easymode" change options I was unable to find a way to do it. If someone could walk me through what I need to do in the code I would very much appreciate the help.

My forum is lifeordeath.freeforums.net

Thank you for the reply. I am afraid while that is a great start, it is above my knowledge level at this time.

Questions.

So I would need an entire plugin with features and stuff that I don't necessarily want (not really sure what comes in it) inorder to move the shoutbox?

The bit of script there...would I copy that entire thing from <script to /script> or do I just need the $---; portion?


Where would it go within the global footer?

Go - admin - layout templates - Forum wrapper

and add the red to hide it the shoutbox

look for $[shoutbox] and add the red like below to hide it

<!-- $[shoutbox] -->

Click to save settings

Then go admin - layout templates - Home

then Put the shout box script marked in blue at the TOP of the home template - Under $[news]
then click to save settings
Then it will show your shoutbox at the top of your forum only on the main page

Thank you very much. My computer here at work gives me fits when I try to open the layout templates so I will try this in a few hours when I get home. I will let you all know if I was successful.
