Most plugins do not work on mobile app because javascript doesn't, so Choke doesn't work either. Banning, disabling, deleting, and warning them, all default features of the site, work though.. just saying. That's actually incorrect, almost all mobile platforms have JavaScript support. The reason plugins don't work on mobile is that we built the mobile version to be optimized for speed and data usage, which means stripping out the overhead of various non-essential systems like plugins.

Wait was it just the notification part not working or the actual quarantine itself ? i have a request in for making the notification system better but right now it requires a link on the page for each approved to get nitified

Hmmm, if I remember correctly...I wasn't notified often and yet I'd scroll through his posts and find some that were sitting there in 'quarantine' mode and now I know why the other ones looked ODD or a uniquely different text font/color {he's used his mobile to post those}.
So out of the 15 days he was on Quarantine status I only had about ½ of those days as 'notified' quarantine posts awaiting approval.

yeah as noted before, the notification system is slightly hindered by the fact that I can only write to keys of members present on a page. I have a request in to change that. when my request gets filled, the notification system will get updated.

Wormopolis, just to verify my assumption, users on the mobile app can see Quarantined posts that haven't been accepted, right? As in read what the actual post says despite it not being approved?

mobile users see the site as if no plugins were running at all.
but that is part of the sacrifice of using the mobile app. you trade speed for content.

Yeah I have that. ^^ I don't think too many people will use the mobile app on my forum because it's very plugin-dependent and they'd be almost entirely handicapped trying to use it but if they caught wind that using it would allow cheating in the game I intended to set up with this plugin, I'm afraid they'd take advantage. It's not your problem or anyone else's, don't worry, I don't expect you to do anything about it nor do I think you could, I just had to verify to settle my own personal quirks. xD

Hi all, I hope somebody can help. When I saw this plug in I thought it would be ideal to review the first post or two of any new member (as only registered members are allowed to post) and make sure they're bona fide. I decided to set it up on the beta site for my website that I used to test v5 last year. I then registered myself as a new member (tester1) I set up the quarantine that all members of under 2 posts would have their posts quarantined until cleared by admin. I then wrote 2 test posts as tester1, using regular reply which showed as having been quarantined. As admin I could see they were quarantined awaiting my approval. However when I wrote a 3rd post it went through without being quarantined, as did the 4th and 5th. Also, when I opened the webpage as a guest, ALL of tester1's posts were clearly visible, without any reference to quarantine. So what I'm wondering is whether it would be more easier and more functional to be able to have an option for all posts of new members to await review by staff untill released from this scrutiny. A simple option on their profile would do the trick. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for your help.

looking at that account, posts 1 and 2 were deleted. if you set it up to only quarantine 2 posts or under, then yes the 3rd post and after WONT be quarantined. at the point they make the third post, their post count is already 2. so the quarantine rule is no longer applicable.
so looking at your proposal, how do you define a "new member"? any member under a certain post count?

Thanks for your swift reply Wormopolis. I'm guessing from what you wrote that you saw 3 posts of tester1 without quarantine notice. In fact for me as either tester1 or admin the first 2 are still quarantined. What I mean is guests are not allowed to post until they register and activate their account. I then can either approve them for posting, or if I'm suspicious due to their IP address, I'll ask them to confirm content before I do. I was hoping that I could have the option to approve new members to post, but that their posts would not be published until I'd reviewed them, and if okay give them free rein.

I was looking at their recent posts and according to the display, they dont even exist anymore. "3rd test after deleting 3 that went through after first 2 using full reply option Read more: biasedbbc.freemessageboards.com/user/532/recent#ixzz2s8424H9C" just because they are deleted, doesnt mean the post count changes. the post count is the only number I have access to. keeping a list of approved-to-post members is going to get cumbersome and eventually you wont be able to add any new names to the list because of storage limitations. attaching something to someone's profile that allows them to post without quarantine requires an additional key. or the quarantine companion plugin could be used and modified to now hold additonal flag. but because of the way a flag would work, no one would have the "approve" flag set as soon as you turned it on. and everyone's posts would start getitng quarantined until to manually went though and approved every member. there is no "from this point on" method that can be done, because the code isnt going to know at what point "this" refers to. what I could possibly do, is add an "exclusion list" to each rule that you could add their names to. then when the rule would no longer apply to them, you have to go back and remove their name from the rule manually. so for example you have a rule that all members under 20 posts are quarantined. but David is only at 8 posts and you trust him. so you add his name to that rule's exclusion list and david is free to post anywhere. then when david normally passes the 20 post mark, and he would no longer be affected by the rule anyways, you go back into settings and remove his name from the list to conserve space.
