You don't even really need a member group, just pick a bunch of people that you think would be good judges of what should be quarantined and people that would be on at all times throughout the day to give the best coverage and add them to the manual quarantine. I have 5 people listed in mine. Thanks too BLC for your help and suggestions Good idea on mentioning it in the welcome note. I should do that, as well. It does work great for catching spam, before anyone sees it.

I have around 500 members although probably less than 50 have actually posted. It would be easy to list members according to post count and 'approve' all of those, who I know already are safe, and keep or tick the quarantine on those who have yet to post until determined to be safe. Naturally I don;t know what's involved in adding the suggestion I do, and am completely guided by whatever you tell me - just an idea I see I can make the plug in work for the time being to address the issues I need. Thanks so much Worm

Thanks so much Worm What i do is just set it up so that anyone new gets quarantined. then set the amount, I have mine to 6 at the moment. I have several 'rules' set up, the first one lists several problem members and all their posts are quarantine across the whole site. They haven't posted in a long time, but I keep them in the fields so that all I have to do is update names when necessary. Its mostly so that I don't have to try and remember later how to set that rule up. Once they realized there were being previewed, they lost interest. Most people like that want an audience and when you take that away, they move on. My second rule is for the new members and I have it set to 6, but I do go in and change that number as necessary. i used to have it higher, but as things calm down was able to lower it. My third rule is the manual quarantine and I have 5 members that can manually quarantine. Then lastly I have a rule set up for guests, but I don't let guests post. No way to differentiate 'guests'. They are all 'guest'. I just leave it so that it is set up.

Cheers BLC! I didn't quite understand what the 'manual quarantine' meant. I'd originally thought there would be a button or option on any post to quarantine it, but never saw one. Could you explain please. I think your reasoning for the way you set it up is sound. Thanks for the tips.

a manual quarantine adds a new item into the "gear" menu top right of each post. it allows anyone in the rule listed as "manual quarantine" to use that new menu item to attach a flag to that post.

Thanks Worm, I see it now on those posters who have posted less than the quarantine limit. Cheers.

if you hover over a banner of a quarantined post, it will actually tell you WHY the post was quarantined. if it fell udner one of your rules, or someone manually quarantined it.

Could you explain please. I think your reasoning for the way you set it up is sound. Thanks for the tips. When you set up the manual quarantine, there is no button but in the cog wheel, the word quarantine shows up in there. So, make sure to let the people that can quarantine know that as they may hit quarantine by accident until they are familiar with it being there.

v1.2.0 submitted to library
added member exclusion to rules, where you can single out specific members from being affected by a rule even if all other criteria is met. also excludes a member from a manual quarantine

Oh Mr Wormopolis, I have a small problem that I need you to fix, please. I was testing something out today and created a thread while under a rule in second account. Well, once back in admin mode, like an idiot I deleted the post/thread thinking it would remove the Quarantine notification, but it didn't and now I can't get rid of the notification because the thread is no longer there. sorry There is something else. Would it be possible to make it so that you can have different colored quarantine bars for different themes so that you can maintain the color scheme?

I was starting to think I released a back-version for a second... No, its just that I implemented a new theme last night and all was fine but after the maintenance some of the plug ins and css previews were acting goofy and I was working through those and at support and I missed it. doh!
