Whats the issue?    

I have not downloaded the plug-in or its companion, so I have no issues with it.  But another member said you had not been seen on the forum for approx 2 years so I wasn't sure if the plug-in was still being supported.  By that I mean answering questions or helping if an issue did arise.  I understand it has been used by many, so I would not expect any issues between your plug-ins and ProBoards software, but I have seen issues between plug-ins installed with different functionality but still interacting in unanticipated ways.

Oh I wouldnt count your chickens before they hatch. PB base software had some changes since I last even looked at this plugin. If you try it out and it doesnt work let me know and I can look at it.

Thanks very much. I did download the plug-in and its companion to a test forum.  Looks good so far.  I was planning to go through all 33 pages of this thread before asking any questions, but maybe one question if you don't mind.  I noticed a new user can issue a number of posts that have not been approved but still increase his post count.  So when his post count gets to the threshold, his subsequent posts are not quarantined.

I don't think it's a major issue because we will see all the quarantined posts and deal with the user at that point.

But thinking this could be handled one of two ways:

1) Not count unapproved posts - but I suspect that is not feasible given PB software's way of handling post counts, OR

2) Have a rule that if a user has any posts in quarantine, all his posts are automatically quarantined as well.

1) There is no way a plugin can modify a user's post count. thats part of the base software and out of our control. manual adjustment of the user's post count would have to be done from the profile editor.

2) I believe Ive seen someone make it where all new users are automatically part of a group or just not assigned any group. Once they have been vetted, they get assigned a group that is no longer affected by the quarantine plugin.

I've read through the thread and I understand the problem I'm having with users using the mobile app. I assume nothing can be done until V6, but I will ask on the Support Board just in case a workaround was found in the meantime.

Just now using this plugin and was wondering if it was possible for the Quarantined notification be placed elsewhere besides in the Headers (Top) > Navigation Bar?

Right now the Quarantine notification is showing up here: ( circled in red )

The bigger issue is the mobile app doesnt run ANY plugins currently, so no plugin will be able to written to work on it.

Would it be possible to add a field for the end-user to input their own word type notice instead of the Quarantine wording notice? As I'm sure you already know, the Quarantine characters count takes up lots of space in the Navigation Bar.

Example words I would use:

QM = Quarantine Manager

Alert!

The two examples above would be known by staff implementing this plug-in for the sole purpose to quarantine something before it is approved.

We've been using the plugin since May and have been very much appreciating it. Thank you.

My question may have more to do with forum software than the plugin, but I thought someone here might know the answer. Since July many of our new messages aren't being quarantined but there is no "via mobile" notation on the posts. All of these posts have been from Russia and Africa. Is the issue with the plugin or is it that the forum software can't see mobile posts from some countries?

PLUGINS DO NOT work on mobile until V6 comes out until then you can disable mobile view

I originally asked for help as the plugin wasn't working. Looking back through this thread I found the answer, which had to do with permissions. I'm editing the post to let folks know the problem is fixed and no replies are needed. ?adwoman?, thanks for your response.

We FINALLY launched our Forum on your PB platform on December 15...and despite lots of successful testing ahead of time...now the Post Quarantine and or Post Quarantine Companion Plug-Ins are not working. All posts go through without moderation. We hadn't changed anything in the settings to that point, but now I have tried all kinds of variations, but I hate to put a lot of test posts up, even though I can delete them immediately.

One of the MAIN reasons for going with ProBoards is the ability to moderate posts BEFORE they post.
I've not made it through the 33 pages of SupportBoard Q & A, but even if I did, I'm a "muggle" when it comes to this kind of thing and might not figure out the answer that way, and I really need to fix this issue ASAP.

Can I send a screenshot of the settings page to a PB staff member so you can tell me what I've got wrong?
Will this Plug-In EVER work on mobile, and if not ever, where do I go to turn off (and hopefully eventually turn back on) the capacity to access the Forum from a mobile device?

When you look at the forum or make a post OFF mobile does the plugin work?  because every plugin is handicapped with the fact that the mobile version doesnt run any javascript, which is the core of how plugins operate.  without javascript, there is nothing that can flag a post to be quarantined, and without javascript there is nothing stopping a flagged post from being read.  Its a fly in the ointment kind of thing.
