Am I missing an event for when a participated links dialog is shown? When a shoutbox post is posted? I'd like to know if there was some workaround for these, as I've come up with nothing to bind to. Primarily, I'd like to add effects to usernames and such, but they don't show when new dialogs pop up or a shoutbox post is posted.

Both those examples have no corresponding event firing that I've come across, they do however have one thing in common which is an AJAX payload. With that in mind you could set a listener for one of the global AJAX events then filter by URL to drill down on the specific AJAX transactions you wish to monitor. I've yet to come across a transaction that suppresses global events in Proboards so you should be good for now

Im not sure if we are allowed to use proboards.ajax though.. I seem to remember VS Admin saying not all events are allowed to be used. It would be great to get a list of ones we ARE allowed to tap into though

You're not using AJAX though, merely listening for when such transactions occur and performing  actions in your own code based on that info. It would be the same as listing for a click event on a button and using that action to trigger actions in your own code. You are not sending or receiving AJAX just listening to them being sent by Proboards and using them as a trigger into your own code.

The fact that there is currently at least one plugin in the online library (that I can think of) using this listening method pretty much gives it a stamp of approval

I do currently have a request in to add more proboards.events, uh, events. Shoutbox submission was already in the list, but I'll add the participated dialog one in as well.

You already have the onPostDelete or whatever event added to your list, correct? You could perhaps add an onPostEdit too if it makes sense to make that available as well.

would it be possible to do an onReport?

I am looking at binding to the report link in the options menu, but the problem lies in if the report gets cancelled before its actually submitted. I looked at the dialog box that pops up, but there isnt any info inside it with the post id in order to latch to the submit button.
