on ayhtm and also on soti, i have the exact same codes and the one i love the most and that is the most important to me at the moment, is the way the categories are. i like how they're all separated and you click on one category and the boards drop down but they're all side by side i guess is a way to put it? just look at either site to know what i mean haha first off, i have found a collapsing categories code but only here and not directly on the forum. i'm not going to download anything. i only want to use plug-ins that i can click on directly off my forum and install directly to it. but looking at it, it looks like the code where yes you can click and the categories either expand or collapse, but they're "lengthy" as i put it, so basically the same exact as it would normally be except you can expand or collapse them. i want the categories to be side by side and stacked as i currently have them on my two sites: ayhtm and sotidoes anyone know if that category code also works on v5? if not, can anyone make it? the code means that much to me that i'm willing to go to a totally different hosting forum in order to keep up with that one code. i really, really don't wanna leave proboards and especially since i'm so used to it, but i just hate the way forums look when categories are just down a line one after the other. it looks crowded in my opinion if you can help please let me know! * whether you know where i can find that code (more so, what to look up to find it off my site - which i'm using a testing forum right now before i ruin my two main sites) * or you can create it thank you again (:

since Todge wrote it, it would be up to him to submit it to the library. I thought I saw a thread with a dropbox link somewhere around here...

I think the tabbed category code exists already. its not in the library, but I think todge already wrote it. you might have to do some leg work to find it though. I dont remember where I saw it if I did. maybe requests?

I was halfway through coding it when Shorty created a template to do it.. You can find his template here. After that was released, I never went any further, as I thought a plugin would render his template pointless, or vice-versa.

i saw that but it says to delete codes from lines 2 to 10, but my code is different.
this is mine:
{foreach $[category]} $[category.anchor] <div class="container boards"> <div class="title-bar bbcode"><h2><div class="title_wrapper">$[category.display_name]</div></h2></div> <div class="content cap-bottom"> $[category.board_list] </div> </div> {/foreach}
this is what that thread says should be there (but isn't as you can see above):
{foreach $[category]} $[category.anchor] <div class="container boards"> <div class="title-bar"><h2>$[category.name]</h2></div> <div class="content cap-bottom"> $[category.board_list] </div> </div> {/foreach}
i've posted multiple times but no one seems to care enough to help.. i did have one person try to help but what they said just has me even more confused than before so is there anyone who can and is willing to help me? it would be extremely appreciated!! shouldn't take more than a few minutes out of your day. so please, if you can help, please do and thank you soo much if you do

haha so the whole thing you mean?
i just don't wanna paste over stuff different from what the person said. cause again, my codes in that section are different from what they displayed so i'm not sure if that's gonna ruin something on the forum. but if it does i can just click restore right? and it won't get rid of every single code but just restore that section to default? cause if it restores my entire site to default i'm gonna kill somebody haha

you can always click restore to set it back to PB default.
you also can just copy and paste everything in there into a wordpad document.
then make your changes and save
if it goes terribly wrong, just copy back from the word pad into the template editor. no harm no foul.

yeah i know i can click restore but what i was asking was: if i click restore, does only that one section go back to proboards default? or does clicking restore, anywhere, make the entire site go back to proboards default?

I answered in the tabbed categories thread. Just replace what you have. All that's different it looked like is the title bar and that gets removed.

You'll have to do it for each theme.
I'm not seeing that any changes are there. Are you sure you saved? PM me a copy of your home template.
