Is there way to resize images in private messages? This works great on the main forum. But pics in PMs are still huge. Cheers. Give version 1.0.7 a try.... Thank you. Works great. Now how about a stream player? lol Someone needs to make one. My forum actually wants to watch movies together? lol SMH.

This plugin resizes images dimensionally, it sounds to me as if you are trying to upload an image that file size is too large for PB to accept. If that's the case, open the image in an image manipulation application, like Photoshop, GIMP or MS Paint, and resave it as a jpg image. That should reduce the file size to something that PB will accept.

as i said, the too large file problem was what i thought this plugin was designed to address, as most other forum softwares such as NING-based ones have the ability to resize before save.

I'll have to add a banner saying to make sure you have a paint program installed to resize your photos before uploading. I sure this will result in a lot of users used to this feature going elsewhere.

as i said, the too large file problem was what i thought this plugin was designed to address, as most other forum softwares such as NING-based ones have the ability to resize before save. That file size limitation is something in place on PB's end. Plugins can't override that limit to allow you to upload a larger image to resize. If your forum only allows 1MB file sizes, then the file size still has to be within that limit. If you need to be able to upload files larger than 1MB, then you'll need to go to your Admin panel and upgrade your storage space: Admin > Upgrades > File Storage and you'll want the Attachments section. Linked files don't fall under this file size restriction since the image itself is hosted elsewhere. I don't have this plugin, so I don't know if this plugin works on linked images. Todge will be able to answer that for you.

This plugin attempts to ensure that all images posted in a thread are within the dimensions of your chosen settings, be them linked images or attachments. As Lynx stated above, plugins can't even get the file size before they are uploaded, let alone reduce them. And even if I was clever enough to write an algorithm that could reduce the file size of an image, said image would still need to be loaded into the plugin for it to work, making it redundant. I'm sorry if the plugins' uses are unclear.. I'll try to word it differently in the title post.

Hi Todge, Is it possible for me to somehow make the resize work by % instead of by px? I tried to enter it in the space provided inside the plugin, but it would not allow it. I could make the plugin accept % as well as px, but you'd lose the 'This image has been reduced' notification, and the images would probably be resized no matter what their original dimensions. That is, if you were to choose 50%, then all of your posted images would be resized to 50% of the post cell, even if it meant INCREASING the size. Ah, I see. I didn't think of that. I really wouldn't want them to all be resized that way. Thank you for explaining.

I'm curious. The re-sizing works when a thread is first clicked on (or the recent posts link) or if you refresh the page (of course). However flipping from page to page doesn't re-size the images. For example if I'm on page 2 and then I go to page 3, the images won't re-size on their own and the page must be refreshed. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Could you please post a link to a guest friendly page where this is happening?
Also, are you using Safari on a Mac? As that's just about the only browser I can't test it on.

thacmaster.proboards.com/thread/2110/street-fighter-announced-cross-play?page=90Does this work? This member posts a *toooon* of images so sorry in advance. He was the reason I got the image reduction. It makes the browsing smoother. Anyways if you go to the next page you'll see that it doesn't reduce unless you refresh the page (at least in my experience). I have my browser set to 50 posts a page so it might be a different page for you. It's page 90 for me near the end of the thread. Thanks again.

Hmmm... It shouldn't make a difference, but could you move this plugin to the bottom of your plugins list and see if that works?
I'll do some more experimenting too to see if I can find the issue.
