Is it possible for proboards to create a plugin allowing for ftp and iframes?
I am thinking about those who have drop boxes, Microsoft's skydrive, google stuff and so on. I have skydrive. It has iframes.

This has been requested several times before, and I believe because of safety issues the coders have decided not to make codes that allow iframes in posts. ( I can't speak for everyone, but most of them agreed it wasn't a good idea )

VS Admin can clarify, but we have been advised to not allow iframes in posts that users can just edit the destination.

I don't think I ever specifically advised that, but it definitely sounds like a very bad idea to allow iframes in posts. Exploits waiting to happen.

I recently began using skydrive. How about an ftp? FTP is a file transfer protocol for moving files across the internet. Since you can't access the filesystem at ProBoards, FTP doesn't apply to this situation. Are you referring to a specific service? Anything that has to be loaded in a frame is as vulnerable as outlined above.

I am thinking about accessing my documents-that are on my pc or that I have in a file storage program and then adding that document to my proboards. Example: my attempts at writing fiction or miscellaneous. In the beginning, I had said some people use a dropbox, ftp or they use google. I do use skydrive for storing my documents.I have no knowledge regarding the lack of security with iframes. I believe proboards-when they say iframes are risky. I am trying to learn.

Yeah, iFrames are a bit dangerous in the context of forum posts. As I mentioned FTP isn't usable, since you can't access the filesystem behind the forum. Some documents can be uploaded using the attachment feature though.
