PM list instead of using search?

So, I you can send a pm to multiple people the old fashioned way by just doing usernames and commas, but there's a 50 letter character limit....would it be possible for you guys to make that longer, or provide another way to do so?

Well, it looks as if you guys in your almighty wisdom, already have Did some testing with the url and figured out I could do /message/new/1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and it will send it to all those members. Pure genius! Thanks a lot guys!

Hrm, it's a little hacky, but you can do this:

http://tim.proboards.com/conversation/new?send_to=2&grp_recipients=1,2
Where 1,2 is a comma separated array of user groups.  You'll also have to be a leader of each group you want to send to.

Okay, well I guess that doesn't really work. The reason I ask is because I am working on a thread approval plugin and I would like it to create a PM for specified user groups instead of having to specify each user. I can figure out a way around it by just clicking different buttons and then selecting the group I want. It's a workaround but it shouldn't be that hard.

How doesn't it work? It allows you to do exactly what you asked for? The only issue I can see (which I just corrected internally) is that when deciding whether or not you have permission to add the specified groups, the URL parameter doesn't take the mass_pm power into consideration.

It doesn't work because I need normal users to send this pm, not just the administrators or moderators.
