I'm not sure if this is possible, or how conplicated it would be, but is it possible for anyone to make a comment system? I need one that integrates the current members, so my members wouldn't have to sign up for a 3rd party comment system like disqus. It would be great if all mods could moderate the comments, i.e. delete comments. Also if comments can be "liked". I need this for some of my custom pages. I'm currently using disqus, but i'd like the member integration

Is this just for custom pages, a specific custom page, or more pages? Are comments threaded, flat, other? Do comments have up and down votes like discuss? Upvotes only?

It's for several article-type pages. I think threaded is okay, up votes only.

so you basically want members to be able to post an article (create thread), then have the other members make comments on that article (post replies), and also have the ability for members to "like" the comments?

No, only staff with access to custom pages can post articles. They would post the articles and members can comment on them. Not really like a forum thread.

if you set a board so that only staff can create threads, its exactly what you are describing.
creating a from-scratch code to emulate what the software can already natively do is silly.

Yea, but it's not exactly like a thread. There's not starting post, unless you count the article itself, but I don't want the clutter of a thread also, it would simply have the member's name in a comment and very minimal.
Perhaps a way to edit the layout template for only a single board then?

"the clutter of a thread" doesnt make any sense to me. you are talking about making a bunch of comments on an article. that list is called a "comment thread" in every application that uses relationship objectivity. in the a forum thread instance, every post IS a reply comment after the first post, it just has all the mini profile stuff added to it. if you wanted a board where you get a condensed version of a thread listing, it would easier to do it in the templates. you can just subtract the pieces you dont want. then it takes a bit of {if}{/if} magic to make that template run in certain board and the default one in all the rest.
but if you are hoping someone can write up something with basically the "facebook engine" to use as a custom page widget, you might be waiting a while since it would require 1. someone to write in PHP or similar language, and 2. external storage to store all the articles and comments.
I would go for option 1 since PB already provides all the storage you need.

Exactly. That's what I meant earlier. Now how would I go about doing that? (What's te exact {if} I need?
