Add Color to Recent Status

First, apologies in case this has already been requested and I missed it in my search.

Back in V4, we had personal text, which we could add color to using a header/footer code. It looked like this (I'm referring to the dark red text "I just want to watch the world burn" right below the avatar):



Currently the profile looks the same except that it has the code for the color visible around the same text below the avatar:



I am hoping someone can make a plugin that will allow us to add color to the recent statuses. Our site, for example, does not plan to use the "status" any differently than we did the "personal text." And it looks so much better when it matches the rest of the mini-profile.

the template allows you to put a font tag around that area of any color you want. or are you asking for user to be able to choose their own color?

The second, I suppose. I'm asking if in the status update box itself, a user can put any color they want around the text. For example, the images I included above are on an account where the status should be red, but I have another where the status should be chartreuse, and another where I'd like it to be gold, and so on.

We used to be able to do that with the color bbcode. I'm just looking for the ability to do that again.

Thank you so much for working on this! I see that it works great on your board, but I can't seem to get it to work on mine. Are there any special plugins it should be above/below or that sort of thing?

What sauce do you suppose goes well with foot in mouth?

I don't know if I really needed to move the plugin around or if I just wasn't paying attention, but the plugin you made works like a dream. Thank you a thousand times over!
