Plugin To Post Articles As Threads

I am a new forum owner and all of this is new to me.  So please forgive me if this is a dumb question.

My forum is focused on a particular stock.  I was wondering if there was a plugin that would allow any news on the web (based on keywords; ie company name & ticker symbol) to be posted to a board where each story would be a new thread?

This would be a tremendous time saver and would allow a board like ours to quickly aggragate opinions throughout the net.

Wait, so you want someone to write something that will search the entire internet for a specific company, gather all the results, and post them all to your forum? How would it know what content is valuable, or even what content is new? Google has built their entire empire on an algorithm to do exactly what you're asking a plugin author to do for free.

I wasn't asking anyone to do anything at this point. Just fact gathering. It may not be possible.

Let me give you an example. Google Alerts. I can enter key words for a stock and on a daily basis it will notify me of all new mentions of that key word. I was hoping there was an efficient way to have each of those new links become a thread. Ideally, it would display the entire content (for instance a blog about a company) on the thread, but if all it did was post a link in the thread, that would be fine too.

At this point, I was just wondering if there was something like this out there.

Also, I believe that automatic thread/post creation isn't something allowed by the TOS currently.

Good point. But this would be catered to the thread and initated by the admin. Perhaps the TOS could eventually be altered to allow for this. It's kind of like embedding an RSS feed perhaps. I am guessing that the TOS' rules (will concede I haven't read them yet) addressing this were to prevent spamming but I could be wrong.

I don't know, but..... a tool like this would really help someone provide timely, focused information to a group specifically interested in the topic at hand. It would also help attract new members IMO.

So, I'm guessing you're not aware of a plugin that may move me in this direction?

There are currently no plugins to accomplish this that I know of.
