Chatbox coding in V5 and what coding still works

Hello. I am looking to add a chatango or Cbox to my forum in place of the shoutbox that comes with it. I know that alot of coding from V4 no longer works, and have not been able to find if chatbox coding works on V5 so far on the supports board. So, does it work, or do I need a plug in?

Also, has a list been developed of the coding from V4 that still works in V5?

You should be able to add a Chatango or Cbox to your forum. Most of the codes in the data base that were used on V4.5 won't work because the structure of V5 is totally different and those old codes often reference the old structure in order to work. However, many of the popular codes have been replaced with plug-ins made for V5.

Also, much of what you did with codes can be achieved by changing the templates or editing the css that comes with V5. If there is something specific you can't seem to find how to do post in the Support board or if you know it would be a template edit post there. If you aren't sure where to post your question you can post here and I can direct you to where the best place to post, would be.

Thank you for the information Tumbleweed. The plug-ins are a different feature and will take getting used to. But that index is a big help for finding what I needed. Not too sure about the key/super key concept yet though. Also, it's good to know that a Chatango/Cbox will work still.

I do have one last question. Which of the plug-ins works as a level bar, like the old code where the bar goes up as you close in on each member rank, then resets for the next rank. I though it would be the Simple RPG Stats or w_Experience, but that does not seem to be the case. So, would I post this question over there?

Wormopolis has a plug-in called the "Posting Activity Bar". Not sure if that is the same as what you are talking about. Try it and see. It is easy to disable or remove the plug-in if it isn't the one you wanted.
