codes that will kill presto if they run after it: tangent, colorsmear, username in post, highlightable code, tabbed sections
that is because those codes will rewrite the HTML of the div IF they see there is something in the div they are supposed to be targetting.
so as a quick check, move presto to be LAST in the list. lets see what that does.

I moved it to the very bottom and it does work on hover now but it's still glitching. It's showing up at the top of the image whether you are hovering over it or not and is exempted from the fade effect when you hover over the image. Example is here

it doesnt like that there is text without a font tag around it for some reason. so I have to add in something to make that happen.
in the meantime, surround your text with a size tag or something

Yup, that did the trick! I'm personally okay with it not accepting plain text, I just didn't know that it didn't. =) Thank you very much, Wormopolis! =D

I didnt either.
I just pushed v1.0.1 to the library so it will work on just text stuff.
is it working in your regular thread as well now?

Yes, thank goodness, they appear to be perfectly intact again. Thank you for reminding me to check that hahah

Hey, Wormopolis I want to suggest that instead of the background color of the hover content being white by default, that it be transparent. So it will be possible to have hover content text over the image without having to mess with the opacity settings in the plug-in (which also makes the content transparent).

if its transparent you will see everything behind it before the hover though.

if its transparent you will see everything behind it before the hover though. I don't think I explained myself very well... When I put in this: [presto][img]text[/presto] by default when I hover over it, the text has a white background that stretches to the edge of the image but not the height of it. I'd like it to instead have a transparent background so you can see behind it and see the image. BUT, if someone wanted it to not be transparent they would add: [div style="background-color:#000;"]text[/div] Does that help?

If the background of the text wasn't a solid color though, I don't think you would be able to read it on top of the image.

Nvm. I figured a way around it. Clearly I wasn't explaining myself clear enough.

Lets say the image was dark.. you wouldnt be able to read darker text on top of it if it were transparent.. not to mention there wouldnt be a fading out of the image at all . the image would be solid all the time and what text you could read would sort of fade in on top of it.

The text color can be changed and I'd have a div style for the text that doesn't take up the whole area of the image so the text isn't necessarily directly on top of the image. I figured a way around it though. I just made the same exact image the background for the hover. sandstonetheme.boards.net/post/15

ok I see where you were going with that then. I think your way works better though with a second background because making it transparent is going to lead to people freaking out that the text is the only thing fading in instead of the the pseudo effect of the image fading out.
I have it looking for the closest object with a solid color (which defaults to the message area color unless something else is in there below it with a different color). I tried to make it like transparency, but it immediately latched onto the message div being transparent on top of a cell with a background color.
maybe make it where it uses [presto=transparent] as an opening tag for the option? I would be more inclined for that then to make it the default.

I'm totally fine using the double image loop. I guess many other people would freak out about it... I just like having more options.
