This is to help you create and edit the array in the Smiley Dropdown plugin. You will need version 3.1.0 or above of the Smiley Dropdown plugin to have full use of all the functions. Pluginversion 3.0.0Direct downloadTo access the Smiley editor, hover your mouse over the 'Admin' link in your menu. You should get a small drop down menu. Clicking 'Smileys' should then replace the pages main content with the smiley editor. Once there, hovering your mouse over the relative cells/buttons should give you information as to what each one does. You can now re-arrange your smileys simply by dragging and dropping the into there new positions. Note: This plugin does not add your smileys automatically, it creates the smiley array for you, but you will need to copy/paste it into the Smiley Dropdown plugin.
how do you do that as i can not enter the plugin it only states a saved state not editable at all needs revision

Save and away you go.

I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding how this works. I got the plugin (I'm totally new to plugins by the way) - found the dropdown menu when I hover on Admin, clicked on smilies. Then I put the url links or whatever they are called in the cells and clicked on "get list" - which generated a list of those links and told me I have to paste them into the plugin. For the life of me I cannot figure out how this last step is done. When I go to Admin - Plugins - Manage - Smiley Management, from here there is no settings tab, no clear way to paste. Help?

In the Smilie Dropdown plugin (Not the Smilie Management Plugin) you should have a 'Smilies and Settings' tab, click that, and the first box you cone to is where you pste the Smilie Array.

Before you do anything, install this plugin onto your forum... Now, hover over the 'Admin' button and click 'Smileys', now add all of your smileys as you have already done before, when finished, click 'Get List', and you should be presented with your Complete Smiley Array. Close the Pop-up, and hover the mouser over the list, which should be highlighted automatically, and copy (CTRL+C) the list. Now, click on 'Admin' >> 'Pligins' >> 'Manage' and scroll down until you find the 'Smilie Dropdown' plugin. Click that, then click on the 'Smileys and Settings' tab, then paste (CTRL+V) the smiley array that you copied into the first box. 'Save Changes' and you're good to go.

Todge, thank you so much for your efforts to help me with this, I really appreciate it. Sadly, this still just isn't working. Once I've done all these steps I'm supposed to see the new smilies in the regular smiley dropdown above the reply box right?
The one thing is that I did get a message when I installed the smiley dropdown plugin that said it might not work if I don't enable the shoutbox. I don't see what a shoutbox has to do with smilies, but could this be the problem at this point?

wait! I got it!!! it's working! When I went into manage plugins again and saw that it wasn't enabled and tried to enable it, the message I got was more clear about the shoutbox thing than the first one I had gotten. Or I just misread the first, who knows. But all good now. thank you!

Is there line of code to add to the smiley so the drop down box listing them has a normal name or is just based on the URL and cant be changed.

I've installed that, but Smileys'option didn't show up — I'm guessing it's because of the menu. I changed my template to default and the option appeared, but the page was very different from the image friendlytoanimals posted: There are no buttons! Here is the link to my forum with its regular template: pokeshuffle.proboards.com
