username on newsfeed

Hello I am wondering if it is possible to make it so the username of the person signed in comes up in the newsfeed.

I want to put something like this;

Welcome *username here* to the forum.

Is that possible?

Hey shezzaar,

you can not place that message in the newsfeed, however, you can certainly have that message up on the right in the navigation bar. Now, it should just say Welcome, @ username, but you can customize that message by going into Admin -> Themes -> Layout Templates -> Forum Wrapper, and in line 43 or so, there should be this code:

<span>Welcome $[current_user.name].</span>  $[logout_link]

So, you could change it to

<span>Welcome, $[current_user.name], to the forum.</span>  $[logout_link]

It is possible if you use the v4 news fader plug in
