Make the banner the same size as the page width

I need help on making my sites banner the same width as the page boarders. The height is also important so, not to make the changing pictures on it and the logo look smashed, stretched or compressed.

If anyone can assist me in this design or steps on how to do it would be greatly appreciated. The current banner can be used as a template to work from if you can create it for me. My site monthly picture contest winner is placed here with the site logo and site name on the image.

Once this is accomplished, I can always re-edit the winning image in GIMP to always be the correct size.

Thanks for the opening your site to guests. I can see that the banner isn't the same width as your forum but re-reading your first post, I'm confused. You want your banner the same width as your page borders (you mean forum width, correct?) but then you go on to say you can resize the banner. Then you also almost indicate you want someone to create a banner using your current one as a template. In all honestly, I'm pretty confused as to what your goal is here.

Just looking at your site, wouldn't resizing the forum width be the best alternative. Most people who want their banner to match their forum width, assuming I'm understanding correctly, will just set the forum with to the same pixel size as the banner.

But if I'm not getting what you want can you try again to explain what you are needing help with.

Ok, let me clarify it better.

Viewing the site at 100% view, the banner photo needs to be the same width as the forum is. The camo outside to the left and right are fine. I see most other sites on the web have a banners that's not so tall and was wanting mine reduced that way too. Wider and narrower in height.

I need to know how to do this and allowing the images to look good and not compressed or stretched looking if this makes sense. The banner on my site will change often as image contests on the forum place the winners image here.
The sites name and logo will also be added to their winning image.

If there is a template I can utilize to do this that would be great.
