issues with the "easy affiliate table"

the first time i added in everything from my v4 codes just for me to go to my home page and none are there so i go back and it didn't save anything i just put in - even tho i hit save changes and it flashed the green "saved". and then i tested it with only two and it was on marquee for some reason and as soon as i changed it to static the affiliates disappeared. now i can't get them to come back, even when it's back to its marquee setting.

anyone else have issues with this affiliate table? there's quite a few places i wanna affiliate (not to mention i don't want the sites i'm affiliated with already to delete me because i can't get this stupid plugin to work properly).

if you have any idea on what's happening please let me know so i can get it to work. thank you

It is extremely rude and uncalled for to call the plugin stupid. I'm sure ®i©hie spent a lot of time and effort on it, FOR FREE, for anyone to use at their will and one glitch does not warrant that insult, and I'm sure the solution is simple and most likely an oversight on your part. Try posting in the appropriate area, which is in that plugin's support thread here, for support from the author of the extremely helpful, easy, and awesome plugin rather than here.

some people are just sensitive but so far you've seemed like you're easy to get along with and don't take everything as an insult or so personally; haha i'm very thankful for that! as i've said, most people on here are extremely sensitive for some reason -_-

as to whatever your name is, i'm not going to bother reading your little rant. please mind your business or ask before you assume. things aren't always as they appear and if you constantly jump to the worst conclusion, you're just going to make yourself out to be a fool, get yourself into bad situations, and/or miss out on incredible people because you're too quick to judge. instant judgment and jumping to conclusions is definitely a trait worth working on for anyone.

it's about the one you've got up already. i asked where you posted the v4 remake but i didn't see you reply with where it's at, so i was gonna use the one you already have up as people are taking me off of their affiliate lists since i don't have one up myself so i had to use that in the mean time, only for it to not work. like i said it worked at first until i put it on scroll, then switched back to marquee since it worked originally with that turned on, but by then it just wouldn't go back to working at all "/

i'm putting it back up now but if you have the code for the v4 remake i would love love looove that one way more!!

richie, if you want i can set you up with staff abilities to install the code if it's something you're not looking to post just yet or whatever the reason may be. just let me know. i'm extremely excited for it. it looks exactly like the one i was talking about! it's so nice having the site look as much as v4 as possible. if only it could be v4 again haha but i know unfortunately that isn't an option. anyways let me know what's going on with the new code - or if it isn't ready for use, any estimate on how long? i told you i'm excited and excited renz is an impatient renz. (:

is this not something i can copy and paste? or something i can just install directly through proboards plugins? i'm a little nervous downloading a random file.. this is my only laptop and if i get a virus years and years of pictures, writing, and much more will be lost forever, so i'm not one to just download random things. or really anything for that matter haha. sorry if i'm making this a pain in the butt for you but i'm really not comfortable downloading something from someone i don't know personally..

anyways, just let me know if i'm able to copy and paste a code somewhere, or if i'm able to directly extract this from the plugin library?

it's a harmless file but I could give it to you as a header/footer code if you'd like..

if you do it like that do i then just copy and paste it into the headers and footers section?
off the top of my head i don't remember how to get there but i'll figure that out on my own when the time comes
also, how do you tag names like that? that way i don't have to send you a message each time haha

Admin > Structure > Header/Footers
tag name by hovering over their display name in their mini-profile and holding ALT while clicking on it (left-click). Or just by typing it in with @ theirusername with no space and their username being, obviously, their actual username. In this case, @ soe without the space.

and thanks for letting me know how to tag names! i was wondering if the @ thing worked since it does on FB but i know this and FB are different in a lot of ways. unfortunately tho lately they've been the same in a lot of ways too!! haha thanks again tho!

®i©hie i replied with that would be extremely appreciated (as always) if you could just let me copy and paste the code without having to download anything. i really do apologize for being super cautious but my life is on this computer and whether you designed it to screw me/someone over or not a download definitely can do so and that just has me scared (unfortunately as there are a few things i've passed up due to downloading). but i do plan on copying all photos onto a disc and just keeping it in a box for storage so in case my computer ever fries or anything i do have back up. unfortunately tho i'm helping my family with some things so money isn't an option right now, so until that time, being able to copy and paste the code myself would be extremely appreciated as i said, or even if it is located in the plugin library to directly attach would be awesome as well. thanks again (for the millionth time i'm sure)

haha yeah, off the top of my head.. as in i can't just sit here and list how to do it step by step, but when i get there i know

®i©hie i actually sucked it up and tried downloading it but when i do it downloads fine, i go to open it from my download folder and it gives me two options, which i tried both and neither one worked. any ideas?

Don't open it, go to your Plugins and click on Export, find the file and export it to the forum.

also where does it say export?
i know i saw import plugin or something along those lines but i don't recall an export button
unless it isn't even in the plugins area at all, which in that case i have no clue as to where it is
i also attempted to search for it in the plugins search option - i figured it wouldn't work but i thought i might as well try it myself before checking back just to have you say i should try it or something along those lines. i also found where i thought it said import plugin but again haven't seen export

There's two ways to install a plugin, one way is to download it and then import it, which is what you're doing, the other is to install directly on the forum but that requires the Plugin Library. To download and import, you click the link above, save it to your computer, go to Admin > Plugins > Manage, and click the top button that says Import Plugin (my bad, said export when I meant import before), type the name of the file in or just find it manually, then yeah. xD
