forgive me if this has been requested.  I did a search and came up empty.

In the forum info block, a summary of the daily post leaders would be helpful in promoting activity.  I've found on other forums that seeing how you stack up to other members relative to post counts encourages activity.

you can show this on a custom page, there's a widget to show top posters. however this cannot be displayed anywhere else, as there's no place to grab that data automatically.

I could be wrong but doesn't the top poster just go by who has the most posts total? That's different from who's the most active. An old member who posts infrequently could have accumulated many posts over a period of time versus a new member who posts rapidly.

A plug-in like this would interest me as well, but only if it could extrapolate data based on posts down in the last week or so.

It doesn't compile and show the total results of most active, but the activity meter plugin(s) by Wormopolis would record the activity of members if you want to try and use that information. Perhaps Wormo would be up for adding a "top active posters" based on his meter information, but I don't know. Just figured I'd offer what options are already available while you wait to see if someone will take this on ^^

the key storage doesnt work that way. it would require an additional key (forum key) to store all at once.
