I remember there being a code for this with V4 but don't know if it still exists where a birthday cake image appears next to the birthday boy/girl user's name the entire day. If this is still a valid code does anyone know what it is?
Thanks for your time

This could be done with a simple {if} statement with a birthday variable but I don't think there's a "if user's birthday" variable out there. Tim Camara, can you confirm?

There's not an if_birthday, but there is $[user.birthday].

Hmmmm is there a "today's date" variable, Tim Camara? I'm looking through my Templates and not seeing one in the Loops and Variables area but I feel like there would be one.

I don't think there is one, but it's a trivial problem to solve with JavaScript.

I'm afraid JavaScript is still unfamiliar to me so I wouldn't be able to do that for you. Wormopolis and/or Brian would probably have better luck on that part You could also post in the Request a Plugin board. =)

is $[user.birthday] global? Tim Camara would have to make it work everywhere if it doesn't already. I tried $[current_user.birthday] in the Forum Wrapper and it didn't seem to work.

$[birthdays_today_link] doesn't work outside of the Home template.
Also, that variable brings up a list with everyone's birthdays, not a single user, so I'm not sure why you'd want that in everyone's mini-profile.

Too bad there's no current date variable.
Could have made it like so if there was -
{if $[user.birthday] == $[current_user.date]} <img src="link to birthday cake image"> {/if}
