A little help here, please! I've been adding more Plug-Ins to my Moderator/Admin options but I'm needing a more specific MERGE PLUG - IN; the one available is designed for the SAME AUTHOR to merge threads but what I'm dealing with is separate authors generating the same topic/thread and now we have more than one thread with duplicate Current Events cluttering up my forum! I have spent a couple of hours looking/reading for this problem and what possible tweek/solution would fix this issue! Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a bit confused about the problem and wanted solution. You, as admin, or any of your staff could merge the threads easily by "moving" the post(s) of one thread into another. You could also ask your members to simply post in the already-existing threads on the same topic instead of making a new one.

Where I come from we utilized the 'MERGE' option when combining same topic/subject threads so the AUTHOR would know where 'her/his' thread disappeared too. This cut back on redundant threads started by many authors all wanting to start their 'OWN' current event thread...about the same current event.
From what I read the 'MERGE' option here is for same authors/posters postings to be MERGED together on a thread. But 'I AM NEWBIE' here so there maybe a tweak that's out there that I am missing!

The Move Posts action should work perfectly for you, then =) it lets you take posts individually from one thread and put them into another thread, effectively merging them. You can send a message to the author letting them know it got moved and where it got moved to as an option, I believe

This will work 'Move Post' if it's the Lead Thread/Topic starter??? OK, I'm putting a note to self that this is the option for any further duplicate threads/subject matter!
TY very much for your precise resolution to my problem!
