I'm trying to make the 'Christmas theme' default & when I log out it changes to it. When I log in it goes back to the usual default theme. I didn't have this problem when I changed the Halloween theme. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Please sassy55.proboards.com/

Perhaps a hold over from version 4? The Christmas theme appears to be the current default theme for your forum.

Changing the forum's default theme won't change your currently selected theme. To do that, go to your profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Forum Theme and change your theme to the one you want.

Thanks to you both for your replies. I changed the Halloween theme & the ones who didn't want it had to go in & change theirs back to the 'default' one. I don't get why this one isn't working the same.

I don't get why this one isn't working the same. My understanding is that the reason is that they never selected a specific theme in their profile settings so whatever you made the default theme for the forum is the theme that they saw. Once they changed to the theme named 'Default' they had made a selection and until that specific theme was changed or deleted whatever else you do will not effect them. Deleting a theme that is being used by a member will result in that member automatically being assigned whatever theme you have designated as the default theme for your forum.

Ok, I 'get it' now. Many thanks True Patriot. So I suppose the best thing to do would be let anyone who wants the Christmas theme to change it themselves.

Another problem with 'Themes.' I put a Merry Xmas image for top of page in the 'default' theme header. Of course it shows up on ALL themes. Where do I put images so that it only shows on the theme it's intended for? same forum... www.sassy55.proboards.com/

Hi Belle, Headers show on all themes. You'll want to place the code in your forum's Home template in Admin > Themes > Layout Templates > Home, as templates are unique on a theme-by-theme basis.

Thank you, David!! I knew putting it in headers, it would HAVE to show up on all themes. I was pretty sure it would go into the templates but just wasn't sure where. After messing around with it a while I got it figured out.
Thanks again!
