So I'm seeing a lot of custom post tables and templates on different resource sites. Profile layouts and stuff people can use to make their posts unique and artistic.
It has come to my attention that simply copying the code will not allow most of these templates to actually work on any site other than the resource site it is located on. Some that I've tried end up being blocks of text.
I assume that i will need a plugin of some kind to allow custom post templates to work correctly. But I cannot find any plugins that will do the trick. Am I wrong?
Are there any plugins I should be looking for specifically if I'm wanting to make custom post tables? or do I have to request a specific plugin to be created? Or do I use plugins at all.

The resource site should tell you what plugins they require for the templates. Presto Code, Tabbed Sections in Posts, Style Plugin to name a few. They aren't always needed though with V5 since [div style="code stuff"] achieves most coding needs
