you said you started a game, did it create the post and everything for you and can he see the thread? does it show him a board in the first post?

I'll have to ask him tomorrow, he's not on at the moment.

When I clicked on a pawn and tried to bring it forward, nothing happened.

So he did see the board once i created it

Yes, and it took me a bit to figure it out. At first i did like he did and it wouldn't let me move. Then I clicked on that tab saying it was my turn and then I could move.

I went that route in case the opponent accidentally made a move without intending to do it. having to click the button to bring up the dialog made it seem more official. like they KNEW they were going to move because they clicked the button.

plus I needed to have something with the "I moved" and "I forfeit" buttons in a logical place that did all the checking after the move and compiled the EPD string. It also checks for accidental check with those buttons.

And I couldn't help him, because I hadn't seen that tab until you started the game and made a move. That's why I say I wasn't sure how it was supposed to behave.

Does the board automatically adapt to the colors of a forum?

it uses a default color scheme built into the plugin CSS, but it can be overwritten using new CSS in the forum CSS. the CSS info tab has more info

In my case..I click play chess..the board appears ,       i select someone to play..make my first move..select i moved..and..the board disappears and looks like this..



clicking create thread does nothing..

That worked..Thank you very much..I'm not too worried about the brackets as we use a website that handles our needs.

Go into the settings for the image paths and correct the paths for black queen and black rook. Somehow the default paths weren't corrected when I last updated the library.

And looking at yours, I guess it might be necessary to put in something to shrink a displayed board down for skinny forums...

I have two, the default and a large text forum. I don't know what he uses, but I'll ask him. He did make a move yesterday. So I don't know what is up with him not seeing the chess button.
