Just download this awesome plugin and enjoying it very much
Haven't played chess since my early school days (a long long long time ago)
But fun learning again - Thanks again for a supper plugin

Hi

A member on my forum informs me that he is having some problems with moving the chess pieces. He is in the middle of a game. When he tries a move the following message comes up:




Plugin key length exceeded.
(Limit: 4000 bytes)

Error Code: 16
Key: wormocodes_chessplay
Object Id: 4001



What does this imply? I have tired it out myself but for me it works okay.

Can you please advice me on what I can do to correct this or why it is happening?

Hi, Gibby, Deyana,

I saw this on another post here - it may help you

In the games, it will prompt the challenging player when the moves exceed 50 to archive some of the data. If the key is already full, you as the admin should see a green book under their board. click it and it will allow you to archive moves for them. once the key is reduced they can continue playing.

have you the latest version 2.6.0

you as the admin should see a green book under their board

Here you go added a screenshot - how it looked on my forum
notice the green book at the bottom of the screenshot of the board
it will show a popup clicking on that will archive the moves thus helping to free up some space

Unfortunately there is no green book to be seen. I see that their game has been going on for 20 hours and 45 mins.

But nevertheless, there is no green book visible at all.

Just curious Gibby and Deyana - I apologize if either (or both) of you have answered this (I just don't recall seeing it answered), but are both of you using the most recent version that @xsteveuk had pointed out:

I have it now. Updated it, and saw the green book.

It should all work fine now.

Remember if you see the green book I believe you have to click on that book to help free/archive the users moves
to help save key space - |Hope that helps

It is working now thanks, had to up date it , I didnt even know there was another version out , are we supposed to be notified when plugins get updated do you know?

Automatically notified? No. Typically, the plugin author will put an update post in their support thread when there's a new version. As such, the best way to get notified would be to bookmark the support thread for each plugin you use.

As an alternative (still not an automatic notification, though), you can go into your Plugin Manager and compare the version # you have to what's in the Plugin Library. Take note, though, that recently updated versions to the library may take a few days to show. Best bet - check the OP (Original Post) in the support thread - the author will most like give the most recent version number there.
