Yeah in order for one person to send a "it's your turn " notification to another player, I have to push to a array formatted super user key. I could use a super forum key, but if there are potentially a lot of notifications it would fill up. But maybe not. Maybe I'm assuming too much there. I only really need to store user id and thread id. So the max would be around 3200 stored notifications... I would have to overcome simultaneous key writing if I used a forum key though.... 3200 isn't very much when you consider each game can have upwards of 50. And that's if each player only makes 25 moves.

It only stores current turns, not every turn ever. Im leaning more towards Pebble's idea, but I have to work through a couple things like simultaneous key saves

I like the overall win/loss/stalemate How about win lost by opponent Then some stats might be interesting like # of moves Then maybe across the board it would be who played the most, who has highest ranking etc Told him I would pass them on. fwiw

The FEN editor simply lets you create a board setup, by dragging pieces or pasting a FEN or EPD string. When that string is placed between tags in a post, it just creates a static board. You would likely use this if you wanted to discuss strategies of the next move with other players.

TinMachine, go to FEN Editor at the bottom right of the posting page. Click the pieces you want to move and drag them to where you want. Click Generate FEN at the bottom and it will give you a long line of gibberish. Switch back to normal mode and copy/paste that in between [chess]tags[/chess] and it will generate the picture you just made. If someone else posts a FEN string, copy it, go to Reply, go to FEN Editor, and paste it where the previous one generated. Click "Put on Board" to turn the gibberish into the picture it represents. If you've already dragged pieces around and want to restart at the beginning, click on "Starting Positions" for it to revert. You can move both sides of the board to make the positions satisfactory for you, such as to show the current position in your chess match and discuss what to do next, as Wormo said above. Finally, clicking "Clear Board" will just remove all the pieces from the board and put them back into their respective homes on the side. I hope this helps =3
