I've been looking into getting a drawing/graphic tablet so I can actually sketch and so forth on the PC. My current sketching is falling short since I'm using only a mouse and my hand sketches are lacking a flare I want due to me not having a good way of getting them to manipulation program. So, my actual question, I'm a novice and just looking for a good starting tablet, do you have any suggestions?

I've only ever used a Wacom tablet. I've had three different models and haven't had a problem with any of them so I would recommend a Wacom. You can check out their site to see the available models and sizes.

Wacom for sure. It's got some very basic easy ones that I've done all my art with and have no problem at all and the professional-level (and very expensive) Intuos ones. But the brand Wacom for sure. =) I got mine on ebay for $60 and have had it for a few years. I can't remember which it is specifically, though.. they have things like Wacom Fun and Wacom Create and stuff like that. Mine is the black and neon green one, if you see one that color theeen that's the one I have.

Someone like Smangii may have some insight into tablets. I think he has possibly used a few in his life time.

I was looking at the Wacom Intous Pen (I believe that's its exact name anyway). So, from how everyone's (I've asked in other places to) told me that's a good way to go. :3 thanks!

Intuos is the nicer, more professional line from Wacom (at least to my understanding) so yes I'd say that's a good one to go with!

Actually Wacom has done some name changing with their tablets. Bamboo pen tablets are now Intuos.
At $79. the Intuos Pen is a great first tablet especially for someone that's never used one before. I've always described the cursor when using a tablet as feeling as if it's floating. I do think it takes a little time getting used to it but once you do you might never use a mouse again.
