Ok, so all semester we have been working on a website to include an index/home, about, career, links, and contact page. We've been editing it over the course of 10 weeks in the beginning it looked kind of plain. As a final graded project we are to apply custom css, and an additional page. All pages must be HTML5 and CSS3 Validated. So, below you will find my final project and I am looking for opinions on the whole thing *table was required, an unordered list, ordered list, nav at bottom and top were also required. Greeting in a different language on main page was required. A lot was required so here it is. amandamontagu.comthoughts?

Hiya! My name is Ashley! I'm 21 years old and am going back to school to be an equine/canine vet! I'm in the website design field as well, or at least I was for a while. I'm going to rate your website on scales of 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest. 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10
THEME1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10I really like your gentle theme with the cherry blossoms in the background with the beige overlay. The way you incorporated the color of the blossoms in the font is quite classy, really. I absolutely LOVE the fact that you have a nav bar at the top and bottom, so cookies for you! Many designers don't think about such things, or put a "Back to the Top" button. At the same time, the black font at the top nav bar blends slightly with the background, making it difficult for reading (I'd suggest a color change to the header color you have! - Would look much prettier!). I did notice, however that you used green as well as the main header's color. Using more than two colors on one page (including the main content's font color) can be disorienting, at times. I'm not suggesting that you change it, but it looks unfinished. Also, on the pages "Link" and "Career", I'm noticing a couple of things. On your "Links" page, your bulletin links are getting lost between the bigger fonts. I didn't even notice that they were there the first couple of times I looked through! On the "Career" page, you have the main headers smaller and italicized, which doesn't appear anywhere else on your website. I was wondering if this was intentional? Same thing going on as the "Link" page with the links. At the bottom, they're smaller and harder to see. One last thing for the theme suggestions - make the white in your name at the top brighter! I like that you display your latest project on your main page! Your Spanish is accurate as well, although I have a suspicion that you used Google Translate :3 I won't hold it against you, as that's the easiest route to your means. I also like that you give a brief synopsis of each of your pages and talk to the person like a normal human being, not a robot. I'm gonna make a small list of little typos to help you clean it up a little. (:"About Me" - "Transfer" doesn't need to be capitalized "Links" - Under Good Tutorials, you have the name hyphenated in the first line. "Text Based" should be "text-based". That's all I could find! You did pretty well with proofreading!Unless it's a requirement, there are three things I wouldn't put on a website, ever. My address (even if you don't give your house number), my phone number (creepers are all over the place), and a link to other freelancers, who could steal your customers. Unless you have some kind of agreement with freelancer.com, where they advertise your site as well, I wouldn't recommend advertising them on your site. Your table on "Career" is very impressive, but I would find your prices a bit high. Professional website designers, unless they were working with a semi-big name company wouldn't charge that much. These guys are definitely professionals, and they have a lot of reliable clients, but they don't charge nearly as much as you do. If these prices were just for filler purposes, they're not a big deal, but if you're really trying to charge someone that much for someone who doesn't even have a degree, I'm sorry to say that most clients won't take you seriously, or will even just pass you up because your prices are out of their range. The website is very accessible and easy to navigate except for one thing: Having to press the back button every time I wanted to view a portfolio picture was slightly aggravating. It would be best to have either a zoom-in feature or a slideshow that you could flip though to see your work. Even thumbnails that you could click on and they pop up in a little window within the website would be sufficient. I was always though in my web design classes that your viewers should NEVER need to press the back button for any reason. Being user-friendly can go a long way.OVERALL1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10
All in all, you've got a good thing going. I like your website overall, but I would definitely do a few things differently. That's just me, but it's your project. You've done really well and it looks amazing! I hope to see more of your work! (Which was amazing to see, by the way!)

For this project everything on it was required, the headings being different sizes, different colors, etc. That includes the headings on the links and career pages. I'm not trying to make money off of this in anyway, just uploaded it to my main domain to have something there and to get critique. I plan to do something way different with my actual website. As for the contact information it was required to do that, hence why my full address is not listed, and I used a google talk number instead of my number I did indeed use google translate as I only know a little bit of Spanish and it was required to have a(n) greeting in both english and another foreign language on the main page. I really really appreciate your comments and constructive criticism and I will post the link again when I complete the new project Which will be a bit different
