I have always been an avid graphic designer; if not by experience or teaching, then simply by curiosity and self experimentation. I taught myself Photoshop and have spent the past 8-9 years finding new uses for it. I do a lot of photo manipulation, but have recently expanded my horizons into digital painting because really talented digital painters make simply phenomenal masterpieces. I just dig art, especially what art can be made through Photoshop (though I have certainly made more than a fair share of drawings using pen and pencil).
However, there's one thing I've attempted to dabble in and otherwise teach myself, but never got far in, and that is coding. I have taken a basic computer course and spent three years in a graphic design program at my high school, so I only have a meager knowledge of code. HTML, to be exact. Beyond this, I just get confused. CSS has never been something I've been very adept at learning.
So, in my hunger to learn art and design skills that will help me make beautiful websites (both on and off Proboards), I realize now that I would really love to sit down and learn CSS and other codes involved in some of the nicer sites you see on the internet these days. If I had the money to go to college and learn, I would; but I have neither the funds nor the time required. What I do have is the hunger to be able to make my own code. This will be used primarily for Proboards, because of its popularity and how high demand great themes are, but I also want to eventually code a website for my own personal art and design business (I've always had to use platforms such as Wix and Square Space in the past).
My question is this: would anyone be willing to teach me? I understand that there's a lot to learn and no truly easy way to do it, so I would understand having to compensate you for your efforts. I don't have a job yet but I hope to soon, and so when I do I will be able to actually put money down for this. But is anyone out there interested in teaching me the skills to code sweet-looking themes for forums, and the essentials to creating my own website? Just let me know here if so. And if you have any other thoughts or advice for me, I will be more than open to hearing them. C:
Thanks everyone for reading!!!

Yeah I've seen that - is the whole curriculum free? I've been confused by it at times (it doesn't answer questions so well as just show the lessons, lol) but that might be a great place to start.

I went and checked it out, and after taking a few lessons, I think this will be perfect. I can't believe this thing is free. Thanks a lot Brady!!!

Thanks Brady =) is that how you've learned everything you know? Through that and experimentation?

No, I was using codeacademy for javascript, I learned CSS and HTML through just trial and error over maybe two or three months by studying premade codes, asking a lot of questions here, and messing with things a lot. I wasn't introduced to codeacademy in time for it to be a real teacher to me of CSS and HTML, unfortunately haha

Oh yeah. That's basically how I got started with HTML. Well hey, it can only be supplementary now. It forces me to use my brain, but it gives hints in case I get stuck, so I think it's very useful. Thanks again :3

Did you make an account with codeacademy or just start learning ? I checked it out and it seemed like I didn't even need an account with them to use it, is that the case you had too?

I don't really remember but I think so. I know it would "remember" my progress whenever I went back

I believe you don't need an account, but in order for it to track your progress as Brady mentioned, I think you need to make an account. Otherwise I believe you can freely pick and choose which lessons you want to do. It's pretty nifty actually ^^

I'm pretty experienced in HTML5 and CSS3, so if you got something you wanna know, that CodeAcademy won't teach you, you can feel free to ask me
