i am trying to create a random banner plugin but i want to later on add a theme whitelist or black list so only it works on certain themes. also so certain banners show on specific themes too.
so i need to know how to get what theme is currently being used.

there is also a "forum search" setting you can set to "themes" for a plugin's user-interface. you could make it where they can simply select a list of themes to not run the plugin.
additionally, the plugin permission settings themselves allow you to make a plugin only run on specific themes.
