I'm in a difficult position to add some nominations as I tend to write my own stuff/plugins for my own site so I may have missed some great plugins.... And I'm not going to nominate any of my own.... So, I thought I'd nominate a load of Wormopolis's stuff for the incredible work/time/patience he puts into the request board here at PB's Support. And then I saw that he'd already posted and didn't nominate anything of mine so he can take a long run off a short pier! Best New Feature:Quick Reply BBCode Buttons by ChrisFor several reasons : This is the only plugin from the library I use! It came out soon after the V5 launch When I go to do support and look at someones site, this is there the majority of the time. I thought about writing my own version and then thought " why re-invent the wheel when this ones spins so well " It works! Most Fun:Chess by WormopolisI'm a big Chess fan and I just wouldn't know were to start if I was going to write this. Top marks! (yes, I know I wasn't going to nominate anything of his, but he deserves it! ) Best Name:NPC Profiles by BrianThe title of this made me look through the thread 6 times! Maybe because I have no idea how a pokemon/rpg site works, I have no idea what NPC means! Is it a new word? An abbreviation? A new proboards control? Plugin Of The Year:Quick Reply BBCode Buttons by ChrisBack to this one, purely because I use it, it seems that so do the majority of forums I look at and it works! Cheers Chris !

And then I saw that he'd already posted and didn't nominate anything of mine so he can take a long run off a short pier! It took me three hours to write that post. I listed so many plugins in each category, going through the entire library for each category. you had several on my list (IP lookup, peekaboo, shoutbox sound), but It took me forever to finally decide on 1 each. If we could have nominated 3 each you would have made an appearance. I didnt get any of Todge's up there either, or Etons.. but I will always be in their debt.

I don't use many Plugins and I am basing this on what the members most appreciate, not what I as admin prefer. If I voted as an admin then the list would possibly be a little different. There really have been some fantastic Plugins made - congratulations to each and every person that has worked so hard. One thing that I have appreciated all the time is the patience that everyone creating Plugins has shown - it must be difficult answering some of the daft questions that I certainly have asked when adding a Plugin. Thanks. This isn't easy but my votes go to... Best New Feature - I never use the Quick Reply but this is one that the members couldn't do without, - so - Chris for Quick Reply UBBC Buttons - www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/558 Most Fun Feature - I am going to give this to the Advent Calender by Wormopolis - www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/474 We had it for years on V4 and it became a sort of ritual to have it. Only once a year but it is fun and made it a special time. Best Name - I don't use this but I just love the name.... Peekaboo Multi Tabbed Side Tables by Pebble - www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/224Plugin of the Year- I think this must go to Todge Smiley Dropdown Option to View All - www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/70. I don't use smileys either but the members adore them and they are such an important part of the forum. RF

Will the Templates section be getting a library awards thing? As we have some pretty awesome standalone templates. We discussed it, but ultimately decided not to do it, at least this year. It's a definite possibility in the future however.

Best New Feature: Gold Shop by Texas. I've wanted a shop forever on my boards. I use it on each one. Compliments the Monetary system perfectly! Most Fun: Random Damage Generator ®i©hie made this for me as a request but I think its awesome! My members love it and we use it for fighting tournaments on my Dc/Marvel board. We have tons of fun with it! Best Name: Yootil By Peter. Functional and fun to say! POTY: Custom Post Template Made by Shorty. A real toss up between this one and Peters work. But without it my forum would not function as smoothly as it does. Players love the application template! No more copy and pasting long app codes!

Best New Feature In this section, I'd like to put forward Shorty's Thread Description plugin. With this plugin I can give a brief summary of the topic so members can quickly and easily see what's going on, and decide whether or not to bother with the thread. It also lets us tag whether or not our threads are "open" or "closed" in a neater manner. Most Fun Feature
For my forum, Texas's Gold Shop plugin is the one. My people adore having items to purchase, and look forward to having new products put up for their characters to use. They really have a blast with this, and it adds some realism to the game. That, and it gives my members some incentive to be active, because they can eventually get that one super cool item they've been dying to get for their characters. Best Name Okay, so I don't actually use this plugin, but I like the name: Arf, short for Avatar ReFlection. It's cute and it's different. I definitely had to stop when I saw the title the first time to read just what the plugin was about. Plugin of the Year I nominate Peter's Monetary System. Peter has put endless amounts of personal time and effort into not only creating this plugin, but adding features to it, providing support, and doing his best to implement suggestions and requested features posed by users. It is an amazingly robust plugin that allows for high levels of customization, and with little effort can be easily integrated into heavily altered layouts. This is just a fantastic piece of work that is not given its proper due, and I would love to see it as an option for the votes.

When I read Wormopolis reply about it taking like 3 hours, I can see why. I've been looking over plugins, and it is actually very hard. I could have easily put the same plugin into multiple categories. Then there is my thoughts, I decided that it was only fair to post my thoughts about the plugin I am nominating, even if they are brief. Some plugins that I feel could have been nominated weren't in the library, so that's a shame. Best New FeatureWas a hard choice, as there are so many plugins that do add extremely good features that a forum probably should not be without. In the end I decided to look more closely at the ones I picked, and decided that I would nominate Chris for his " Quick Reply BBCode Buttons" plugin. The WYSIWYG editor is a awkward beast if you don't fully understand it. Not many plugin developers enjoy touching it, let alone extending it to add additional functionality. Chris provides regular updates and improvements, and you can tell by how active the plugin support thread (read some of his updates ) is, that this is a plugin that is used on a lot of forums. Most FunWhat can be more fun than playing Chess on a forum with each other? My Live Drawing plugin of course . Seriously though, Wormopolis has spent a lot of time and effort on this plugin, it's nicely polished, integrates well into the forum. It's a shame not more people are using it, I know Chess isn't for everyone, but install it on your forum and let your members try it, they will definitely have some fun. So yes, I am nominating " Chess System" plugin for most fun. Best NameThis was a much easier category to decide, there were only a handful of plugins that I thought had a good name. It then came down to which one I found the funniest, that being " Peekaboo" by Pebble. Not much to say to be honest, I just find the name funny Plugin of the YearThis one was tricky at first. There were a few I had listed for this category, however, I decided that the work and effort by Todge on the plugin " Awards System" deserved it. The plugin is well supported and updated, and from my testing works as expected. A new tab on the profile is added for people to see the awards, and staff get the power to give out / remove awards. The main reason for me choosing this plugin, was that a lot of the forums I have visited (when offering support for my plugins) already had this plugin installed, proving that it's very popular, and a nice addition for members on a forum. This plugin gives members an incentive to be active to try and get awards, which in the long run will benefit the forum. Phew. Am glad this is only once a year.

Best New FeatureQuick Reply BBCode Buttons by ChrisI think this plugin is incredibly useful. And the fact that you can add or remove bbcode buttons is pretty amazing. Most FunChess System by WormopolisI like Chess, I'm awful at it, but I like it, and I think the fact that you can now play chess on your forum is absolutely amazing. Best NameYootil Library by PeterI just think it's the best name. And the way you came up with it was pretty creative. Plugin of the yearMonetary System by PeterI nominate this for plugin of the year just because of the amount of time Peter has dedicated to this plugin and how many options there are with this plugin. Like Wormo said it's gone from being "x posts = y dollars" to something far behind that and I think it's remarkable. Good job on this one Peter, I may not use it but I've always kept up with your progress on it to see what feature you would had next.

I sure wish I could have nominated 3 or 4 in each category. Very difficult and I feel bad that I had to eliminate some from my list because they deserved to be there too. But here it is: Best New Feature

This really is a difficult, as much to categorise the plugins as it is to chose only one for each category, but here goes... Best New Feature:- Quick Reply BBCode Buttons by Chris. It makes the idea of a 'Quick' Reply pretty much redundant, but so many people wanted it and EB came up trumps. Great plugin and it seems to be used everywhere. Most Fun:- Monetary System by Peter. This was also on my shortlist for Plugin of the Year, but it's so versatile, and seems to be used for everything from shopping and banking to gambling and gaming, I had to put it here. Best Name:- Peekaboo Side Table by Pebble. No contest there.. Plugin of the Year:- Chess System by Wormopolis. This was also up for Most Fun, but I had to have it here. It's simply an incredible piece of coding.

With approximately 20 pages of plugins to taste test, I got heartburn. There were some scrumptious flavors to choose from and just like in the ice cream shoppe where I can never decide whether I like pistachio, chocolate mint or just plain vanilla better I had a heck of a time convincing myself to not just take one of each. So without further ado here are my choices for... - Best New Feature: Style Tags by Bennett 🚀
This plugin enhances and covers the gaps left in V5 BBCode usability that so many had been clamoring for. I remembering seeing Bennett 🚀 getting completely frustrated and walking away from it but there was no quit in him and through all the adversity and pain he finally gave birth to a brand new plugin conceived in misery and dedicated to the proposition that all plugins aren't created easily. I simply love plugins that are adaptable and inspire creativity in others
- Most Fun: Chess System by Wormopolis
This choice was easier than the others given my affinity for the game and the fact that I once had a dream of creating this plugin my own self (back when plugins were simply called header/footer codes). Putting aside for a minute the painstaking research that went into the creation (Wormo did say he was not a chess player), the execution of the user interface is as close to a perfect fit with V5 as I've seen in any other plugin. I had envisioned a displayable position or list of positions which could then be used to discuss tactics but the he took the idea a step further and utilized the data storage now possible in V5 to do actual competitive gameplay! Brilliant!
- Peekaboo Side Tables by Pebble
From the first day I saw it, it brought back memories of giggling babies. The name has the uncanny ability to get someone smiling without even realizing what they're smiling about
- Plugin of the Year: Yootil Library by Peter
This has spawned an entire new genre of plugins by simplifying the coding to a point where what used to be summarily dismissed as too hard or "impossible" can now be coded in a few well documented calls to this library plugin. The highly touted Monetary plugin uses this very library to do its magic and as someone (can't recall who) so aptly put it, this plugin has become so valuable that it has gained a permanent seat in our coding lexicon
