Simple Tagging On Posting Page

Give this a go Rosefriend. I added a tab to the manage section and you can add the display names in that section that you don't want to appear.
I added it to the plugin rather than having a separate bit of code but won't be updating the library as I think this is especially for you.

It works like a dream Pebble - the Exclude button is marvellous, many thanks!!

I do have one question and that is:- when you go to the next page, all the names are gone - if I add a list of names to a "Group", would that list of names still be there when members go to the next page?? Or is there a way of keeping the same members for say 5 pages, or the whole thread...something along those lines anyway..??

To add to this - we are enjoying the Plugin a lot except for the "Next page" situation that I explained above. However 2/3 times now, another member and I have clicked onto a thread and then reply and seen a list of all the members that have posted on the whole thread which makes me wonder if this is what is supposed to happen?? However without refreshing they suddenly disappear and a list appear of the members that have only posted on that particular page!!

Hi Pebble - yes that is what is happening, - then on the next page (if you are the first poster) there are no names as nobody has posted. The Plugin is then effectively out of action and tags have to be put in manually or using the Insert User Link which a few of our members find incredibly difficult to do for some reason..
I was asked if members that have posted on the thread from the thread start - or the last few pages, say 5 pages, could appear still...am I explaining this properly I wonder?

Oh what a shame - however then this must be a glitch - 3 times now when I and another member have hit reply, suddenly the names of all the peole that have posted on that thread have appeared - stayed for a few seconds and then disappeared...that is what gave them the idea that we could also have all the members to tag..

Hi Pebble - I have worked out what the "glitch" is and it isn't a glitch as such at all - actually you can use it effectively to tag someone.

I, and others, go to Recent posts to check what posts have been made in our absence from the board - if we see something that we wish to answer we then click on the thread name and get taken to the 1st page of that thread. There we see a completely different list of names in Quick Reply (according to the Thread Summary) to the list that is on the last page of the thread and where we will be answering.

If we then click on Reply we then get the list of the names that is correct on the Thread Summary for the page we are going to answer on..so actually no glitch at all. It is just that Proboards sends us to the 1st Page of a thread from Recent Posts and not the last Page...

Nope. The 'All' button adds all the members in the list from that page.

ok, just to get the concept straight, the plugin targets groups manually added which appear as buttons, and the all button targets all the members on that page...not forum or thread?

yes, I think so..... Any names that appear in the quick tagging can all be applied at once by pressing 'All'

I think you'll want to use:

$('div.tagholder').insertAfter('div.controls.ui-helper-clearfix');
Try it and see. It may break something in the editor. If it does, let me know and I'll have another look.
