This is my first post here so if this is in the wrong location please let me know I apologize.
I am using the slimlines theme made by slightlyinsane in my recently created forum and the images for the buttons are not changing when I change the upload.
For example I was trying to change the like button to a thumbs up rather than a heart to fit our forums theme better. When I check the theme's CSS after changing the image it is still linked to the old image, however when I view the pages HTML source the image thinks it is linked to the new image.
It is quite odd. I went ahead and checked and this is the case for all of the buttons. I know how to go into the CSS for the them and make the changes manually, but it would be nice to use the image selection for quicker changes

If you have more than one theme, be sure you are editing and viewing the same theme. When posting for help, it us usually best to include a link to the forum.

The discussion test idea thread shows the issue. The page source is referencing the correct picture, while the thread is showing the old heart image I confirmed that I was editing and viewing the same theme

For help with a theme that you have downloaded, I'd suggest posting in the support thread for that theme, where you downloaded it.

maat7043, I see a thumbs-up image, not a heart. Can you clear your browser's cache and check again? I believe your browser may be loading (what is now old) data to speed up pageloads, not realizing the icon is different.

I believe your browser may be loading (what is now old) data to speed up pageloads, not realizing the icon is different. After seeing Tressa's response I went into the CSS code and manually updated the image URL. I will switch the theme back to the one that shows the error for you to see. The images are still not updating in the CSS code when changed in the Theme settings. I just changed it. <div><a href="#" class="button likes-button"><img src="http://storage.proboards.com/5779177/i/PBwthIGY7fv3VWTvT8CQ.png" alt="like" /></a></div>

Yeah, the heart is showing now. If it's specified in the style sheet's code, that's where it'll need to be changed in the future.

Is there a way to make the changes from this: make it into the style sheet automatically? The simple image switcher on that tab would be quite nice to utilize

On a closer-to-default theme that would be how you change the icon, maat7043, but the particular theme you're using has undergone heavy modifications in regards to the styles, and I don't believe it's intended to be edited. With that in mind, it's not recommended that you make changes to it unless you have a grasp on what the consequences might be (or can describe with certainty what steps you took), as we may not be able to assist in the event that something goes wrong.
