One other thing, is there a way to make the titles of the boards to be bold? And size of font?

Visit your admin panel, then navigate to Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS. Once there, use the visual editor and navigate to Pages > Categories (Board Lists) > Name -- and when those options expand, you'll be able to adjust the size and font weight, among other things for the board titles on your main page

Is there a way to post a direct thread from the main page? From my stand point as an admin i mean. I just want to create a thread about a membership fee, and have it under the membership category but open straight to the thread and not have to go into a board. So more or less on click link instead of having to click 2 different links.
Hope that makes sense.

If you use a custom page as your forum's homepage you can add a Display Post widget that will show one of the posts on your forum by itself.

In your admin area, go to Structure > Custom Pages. You can create an entirely new blank page on your forum from this section to add whatever content you want on its own page.

Is there somewhere i can go to get the basics of how to make a custom page? I see some of the options would be pretty neat to play around with, and is there other widgets that i could add that are not already installed?
Thanks so much.

Beyond the widgets that are provided and adding your own HTML to the page via the HTML tab there's no way to grab the contents of other pages as their data is not requested upon page load. Sorry.

So if i can figure out how to do it using html, thats the only option? HTML, CSS, and Javascript can be used on custom pages. Unfortunately, none of those three languages will be able to grab the categories for you. Sorry.

Is there a way as the admin to change the person who posted a thread. I have a user that posted as a guest and now has an account and i would like to change his original post to showing that he posted it as his username.
