I've got an idea for something that I'd really love to have on my forum, but no clue how to accomplish it, or if it's actually possible.
We've got a Mibbit chat channel, and I was thinking of embedding it in place of the ShoutBox but most of the time it'd just be a big empty box unless the person's signed in. I want to do a separate Custom page to embed the chat in, but I'd also love to have some kind of indicator in the header to show if people are chatting or not. Something like a counter or a lightbulb that lights up if the chat room's active.
Mibbit gives you access to a page that only has the number of people in the room on it, so I could get the info in real time, but other than that... Clueless.
Any thoughts?
