Hey, guys. So I am using the lovely forums.net service and am having some trouble with skyrocketing pageviews. I know that plugins, when they "key set" or whatever it is, take a pageview. I have 37 plugins. For that reason, I'm hoping to learn which ones might be taking pageviews so I can decide the best course of action for my forum. I do not want to leave proboards, but with my pageviews increasing the way they are when we are not even open yet, I am, to put it lightly, very worried. If you know whether or not your plugin causes a pageview, please post here with a simple answer so I can make note. Are you sure that key-set takes a page view from adfree? It doesn't change the adverts on the page so I'd be surprised if it does.

I had not heard an AJAX call cost a pageview either... where did you read that?

I thought plug ins weren't supposed to affect page views, regarding Forum.net costs.

If a plugin was causing that then surely it would be a TOS violation.. Plugins are not allowed to change the page without some kind of user input.

This issue does not appear to be plugin related. Rather, what seems to be occurring is that on ProBoards, the only pageviews that are tracked are actual full page reloads and a handful of specific AJAX requests such as changing pages in a thread. In Forums.net, the system tracks every request, AJAX or otherwise, except shoutbox refreshes. This means that when transferring to Forums.net from ProBoards, there are many AJAX calls that don't show up on your ProBoards analytics that will be counted against your Forums.net pageviews. This was merely an oversight in the transfer process, and we are currently working to resolve the issue. Our intent is to grandfather in any customers transferring from ProBoards with a forum created on or before April 16th, 2014 to not count these invisible AJAX calls against your Forums.net pageviews. ₪» ⅀ ƪ Ƒ «₪, if you have any further questions, check your Forums.net dashboard for the ticket I opened on this issue.

So all the excess pageviews that aren't really pageviews will stop being counted soon? If so that would be amazing
