Looking for help moving the news bar between the forum banner and navigation menu bar with 0 padding above and below. I also want to do away with the its title bar.

Finally I want to be able to write my own text for the login and registration links, keep the links just change what they say on screen. I tried changing the words registration in the layout template but all I did was make it disappear.

You can move your news bar wherever you like by going into Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper. There should be something that says:

$[news]

Just move that above the nav-tree code in that same page.

To edit the padding of the section just go to Themes > Advanced CSS and Styles > Style Sheet > and find the section marked as the CSS for the news window and you can edit everything in how it looks from there.
