Image Preview Instead of Read/Unread Symbol

Is it possible to implement an image preview in place of the read/unread symbol?

My forum is mostly image based, and I've set it up more like a gallery than a forum - one request I consistently get is if it would be possible for me to provide image previews to accompany the descriptive text. Is such a thing doable? Does an app exist that does this already? I've looked but can't find one so far, but maybe I'm just missing it.

I'm afraid not. The URL of posted images does not appear in the cell title, so the information needed simply isn't there to add an image preview.

It would indeed, but it would not pick up images in any threads already created, as I assume it uses a key to store them.
