Ban Members

On my Forum I am going to put members, when they are banned into a special group for as long as they are banned, I hope I don't have to use it. I going to set up a read only thread that only those in the group can see. Would it be possible to have a plug in made so when the ban members log in they go to the thread and can see why they are ban and for how long and once they are back as full members that thread is deleted.

There is nothing more worrying that been ban and you don't know what for or for how long and if you know why you are ban you won't make that mistake again.


I was a member of another forum, not a proboards one, that I was ban from for 24 hours and none of the mods would tell me why, so it got me thinking to have something like this on my forum.

Hi, Little Devil.

If a user is banned they can't access the forum at all, so a plugin wouldn't be able to add anything to the page to begin with due to the lack thereof.

If you're not actually banning the users and are instead moving them to a group when they're banned you can restrict them to viewing a single board, but it's not possible to make a thread that's visible just to them unless the thread were created by them in a board set to private.

I don't know what message that proboards says when a member is ban when they try to login but would there be any way the admin to change it so it tells the member how long they are ban and for what

The part in red could be change by the admin for each member that is ban tell them why and for how long

It wouldn't be possible to change that. Sorry.

You can always send an email to the member through the admin area.
