Experience based on character count

Ive just never seen a request for characters over words.. but whatever.  what do you consider to be a "character"?

yeah there will be eventually a way to edit a members points.  this was just a version 1

no need to apologize. You can always toss out ideas in threads like this. I just wanted you to understand its a work in progress.

the write permissions are about WHO is allowed to save data to the keys. if you set it to staff, only members listed as staff members will be able to save data. members and staff allows pretty much anyone with an account to make changes. everyone will allow everyone to make changes to anyones key. so typically you want to leave it on staff but have "member can modify own key" checked. that way only the people that need to access, are.

Wormo - the standard use of characters is say each letter and space that makes up a sentence or word.

Eg
Wormo is 5 characters long. (And that sentence is 27 characters)

does punctuation count? do numbers count? does any other symbol count? does double space count as one character or two? do ellipses count as 3 characters or 1? do alt codes count as 1 character or the 5 characters it usually takes to create them?

By standard rules yes punctuation and other symbols count, double space should count as two, ellipses also count as 3, alt codes should count as 1

Basically, having everything decided by the number of characters gives me more control over point distribution in smaller posts - which is something I think my board will have quite a few of.
