Just thought it'd be a good idea to toggle a plugin to be OS for any member to edit. (provide a link to your plugin in a thread to give members access) ^ you don't have to reference in a public thread EDIT: the idea is to only make that plugin's page accessible to members. (not the entire admin panel)

ignoring my horror at anyone being able to modify a script element added to a page, why not just make everyone you want involved into a special group and give that group plugin edit access? They go through 2 screens to get into a plugin.

You could also export the plugin, make it editable, upload it on the forum in a board or something, or external source and link it that way.
All-though you could not collaborate on the edits themselves.

why not just make everyone you want involved into a special group and give that group plugin edit access? They go through 2 screens to get into a plugin. this could work rather well, didn't think you could give a group the ability to see your plugin's direct code. ignoring my horror at anyone being able to modify a script element added to a page ... what exactly is so bad about that?? I personally like the idea as it adds to collaboration. =) but to a point though, cause you wanna make sure people don't troll on your plugin.

How would you prevent people trolling. How would you prevent people using the open source to inject a virus?

How would you prevent people trolling. How would you prevent people using the open source to inject a virus? going by the original idea, if your forum contains untrustworthy members, you can put the link to your plugin in a private thread only certain members are allowed access to. of course, wormy's idea works just as good for this, so like I stated, I'm satisfied.
