Using Jquery, you can 'append' or 'prepend' to an element, or, you can add your content before or after an element using 'insertBefore' or 'insertAfter' Is this what you mean by direct?

$( 'the element you want to add to goes here' ).append( " this is what you want to add " );
as a working example (hopefully!) :
<script> $(document).ready(function() {
$( "div.title-bar" ).append( "<span> Extra Title Text </span>" ); }); </script>
