Hello all. I am an oldie that's coming back to ProBoards for several reasons. I first joined Proboards back around 2003-2005, on a Halo RP, but quickly became interested in the idea of forums and made my own. That was back when URLs had a number on the domain and subdomain (I think my first forum was aforum24.probarods22.com or something like that....). I loved it and made a few friends that helped me really get into the concept; I even helped moderate a codes/theme board back when Headers and Footers were the place to be. I eventually just stopped coming to boards as I migrated to other activities and have only recently returned. I needed a board for my WoW guild, so this was my natural first stop. Although that board has now become dormant, my office was also needing a board recently and I recommended ProBoards and was asked to help administer the board. That board has been slow getting started but I believe the platform will ultimately be perfect for them (they were delighted when I told them ad-free was $6 a month, haha). So, I'd like to take a look at support, try and learn a bit and possibly help out. I also know that being on boards helped my writing skills quite a bit, which is something I'd like to develop again. So I plan to check things out, lurk some more (already been lurking PBS for about 2 weeks), and get back into ProBoarding! I'll give a belated thank-you to PB now for helping a young HS Sophmore get out of his shell way back when, and come back to help out as a career IT-Pro

Welcome back. I'm sure you'll notice the big difference since you last ProBoards, now that it's in it's V5 software! How you finding that? I speak as someone who start my own board in 2002, but I've been there all the way along so have adapted to the changes over the years. Point is, I can imagine what it must be like to come back to ProBoards and they're current software version!

It is quite a change to be in V5! Overall I think it looks great, although I utilized the "classic" or "standard" view that makes the admin panel look more like V4 until I got used to it. Considering what I remember of the look back in V4 (pre-YouTube, when you had to compensate for lots of members using dial-up, etc), it's a much more up-to-date design. I've used a couple of plug-ins and definitely like the idea of that and template changes better, although the old header-footer modifications taught me a LOT about web stuff way back when. Thanks for the welcome back .

I've been around ProBoards since 2005 although I didn't use them frequently until 2007. Welcome back.

Thanks for the welcome back . You can still use all of that knowledge from using the old header/footer method That's how I learned, too. It's given me a great advantage to making layout templates and (more recently) plugins. Dive in and explore, there is still stuff at V5 I am learning and I've constantly used it since it was released.
