A plugin isnt going to be able to send something to the server to clear a password flag. but see the reply I just left in your thread in support and see if that does the trick for you.

I must be in a class by my self, any other forum I visit, I can leave a sub-furom, ith out leaving a site. I don't see how forcing me to stay logged in a sub-forum helps security any at all, or every owner of a board being forced to have the user name of 'admin' I would prefer to be able to log out of a sub-forum, even at force, than be forced to remain in, even my bank or Amazon requires a password when changing boards. With all admin's being forced to use 'admin' half the work is done for the hackers already Edit: Even on my personal PC I have disabled windows and other browsers from remembering user names and passwords and I ever use a remember me option

@wormopolis, yes your tip does work for admins/mods, but not for regular members It's not really a grievance but a request for a possible plugin Not trying to complain, just asking A log out of sub-forums manual clickable button, or Automatic is what I am/was requesting did what I suggets not work then? your grievances are going to have to be taken up with the developers. we just write plugins around here.

yeah a plugin still isnt going to be able to change something on the server like that. I am fairly certain is doesnt use cookies or anything for it. thats why I said changing the password to the board should trigger the clear flag on all your member accounts. if it dodnt, you are going to have to open a thread in support saying changing the password didnt require anyone to enter the new password.

Can this be added to V6 so a password has to be used everytime a password protected Sub Board is left or at least the option to log out without leaving the forum. I know my Bank my and Amazon offers it

I know my Bank my and Amazon offers it No. I'm pretty sure everything in v6 has already been decided. But you can add a request in the support board as a future feature request. But seeing that plugins will now run on mobile in v6, you could use a key to store the password of boards and require re-input of the password before the board will be accessible. This would be a super-user key. And basically would require the original password to be handled by proboards and then additionally by the plugin.

On another note. I would prefer that the board remembers my password for a secure subforum. I wouldn't want to input that everytime. Not if multiple boards have multiple password protected subforums, I wouldn't remember them all. Entering the password would flag my account as being given access to it.

Quozzo, I'm not asking for it to be remembered. I'm asking for it to be FORGOTTEN, so it has to be forgotten and no cookie stored. I log out and my grandchildren use my PC. I don't want them seeing private boards

I don't want them seeing private boards The password still has to be stored somehow, regardless of if you want the stored password to be deleted upon exit or not. If nothing is stored, then nothing can be forgotten, if that makes sense. There is nothing there to clear. If you want this as a feature request for v6, I'd recommend making a thread and marking it as such in the main support board. I don't think the admins look here for feature requests.

You can encrypt the password similar to how todge encrypts the awards system or use any text based encrypter/decrypter But you must store the password to check that the password they are using is indeed the right password. And cookies wouldn't work for people that change computers a lot. It could help though.
