Hello ProBoards coders and programmers!
I am the owner/admin of a gaming community called the Echelon of Gamers and I was wondering if it were at all possible for staff to have the power to change a member's username. The reason for this is because as our gaming members change their gamertags (which we have as their display name), we are unable to change their username to reflect this change without the member having to create a new account and all that headache. Would a plugin or some other code be able to do this? If so I would be eternally grateful for the information.
Thanks!

usernames are set in stone. there is no way, short of re-registering, to change the username of a member. and re-registering will unlink all posts and PMs to that member.

That's such a bummer! I was hoping there would be a code or something that would be able to change that. Well, thanks anyways!

If it were that easy to change usernames, I wouldnt have the one I do on here...
on the backend, it would be an immense amount of work because it would have to go through the entire forum and change every instance of one username to another. and a plugin wouldnt be able to do that in the first place since it doesnt have access to the backend.
