Plug In Email New Members

Is there or can there be created a plug-in to allow emailing prospective new members that would allow them to easily join a forum.

Facebook has this feature and it leads to many new members.

you can invite them and this is already there

Just go to Admin > Settings > Forum Settings and toggle "Enable Member Invitations" -- this will allow members to send e-mails to their friends suggesting they join the forum.

They'll need to go through the registration process as usual, though.

thanks.  The only thing I see that needs to be added is to go to your profile and enter all the email addresses of your friends.  Since I have over 1000 friends, this is too time consuming.  Can't we just link our contact lists from our email account?

Unfortunately not with this feature, tennjim -- it allows a maximum of 10 recipients.

For such a large scale mailing you might be better off looking for a service that allows you to send e-mails to a large list of contacts.
