I downloaded the Shout box now what?

On that page you linked to it says, "To enable the forum's shoutbox, visit the admin panel and enter the Settings section. Select Forum Settings from the following menu. Select the Shoutbox tab on the next page."

There are no shoutbox settings options in my Forum settings. There is no shoutbox tab there or anything.

by any chance, are you the owner of the board? if you are you need to go to support board and try to get to the bottom of it and if you are not get the owner to enable it

By all intent and purposes I am the owner. I am co administrator setting this forum up. The owner has no computer skills.

all you have to to is to enable it. No manual is needed

What do you mean is my name admin. No, The owner made me an admin so I can set the forum up for her. I have set up the whole forum thus far. I have been able to do all of the amin type stuff like setting up categories permissions etc.

Only the Root Admin has access to ALL things on a Forum. The Root Admin and NOT Support has to give you the powers. Ask the Root Admin to give you more power to run the Forum.

admin is the owner of the board therefore every power that come with it. You need to switch role with the  owner and there has to be a switch of ownership request and you need to the owner to sign up here with the same e-mail ADDRESS  as the board support.proboards.com/board/44/support-board\

You mean like her making me an administrator?
