footer help needed ...rookie here

I am new and just trying to put my copyright terms and info in the global footer, I have a background image on the entire page but can not figure out how to change the color of my footer text or put a black box behind it so my text is visible in white......

Hi, ekpolo.

Try surrounding it with font tags and add a color attribute to them.

<font color="white">Text goes here</font>

You can also use inline styles on a span element.

<span style="color: white;">Text goes here</span>

If you're brand new to HTML coding there's a lot of stuff you can reference on W3Schools. They have just about every HTML tag ever listed on their site.
