Glowing Member Online

I thought I saw something like this in the past, but is there a plugin that can be created or another way to make the "member online" in the mini profile to glow red?

No plugin needed for a simple font style change like that. Just add this to the bottom of Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet.

.mini-profile .italic { text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px #f00; }

Yup. Just add a color property.
