I've made this plugin myself and it's able here. Basically I just used JavaScript and then let owner change text of it in plugin userinterface they can change it so when a user comes your forum for the first time it'll pop up with that message. This will re welcome a user if they clear there cookies.

ThePride.boards.netSeems all members are getting this message each time they enter the forum. I found the drop down listing all the groups that can be welcomed I then selected New Members thinking this would fix the problem but alas it didn't. Is there something else that has to be done? Thanks in advance

This can be fixed by disabling it on ThePride.boards.net/admin/settings/forum/login_registration it's on Login Settings "Guest Must Login" Switch to no.

Tony I'm hoping it works for newly registered members only. My forum is for registered members only. Guests cannot enter unless they register. Then when the registration is completed and the new member login he/she will receive the welcome message. That is how it works, isn't it?

Our issue you here is that it's not allowing a pop up on there register page, since they've already visited the page it's added it to there cookies so it's not going to pop up again.

I'm afraid you've misread my post. My members are receiving the pop up every time they enter the forum, even those who have been regular registered members for several years

I haven't rebooted/cleared cache though since installing. Perhaps that is the problem? Are people rebooting/clearing their cache so the plug in thinks they are new again? I hope that isn't the issue, because if it is then it will be more bother than its worth.

If they clear there cookies, it'll pop up. That is bad, because members do reboot their systems and no one wants to be constantly hit with popups. I better go get rid of it. I don't want to drive my members away. I already had one member mention it.

Also I haven't had this problem when I made it, it came up once and that's it.

Quite a few people have their systems set to clear cookies on reboot. I like the idea but have disabled it awaiting a fix to stop it popping up to everyone each time the enter the forum. If it did what it is made for it would be a fantastic plugin. Welcome all new members on their first entry to the forum just once.
